Groceries

Spent $48.48 today on groceries. I've got it down to a science. I buy the store brand of frozen mix vegetables when they're on sale for $.88/bag ($1.29/bag reg). Each bag holds 2-3 meals. Now, I don't buy fresh because I don't get them eaten before they die, so frozen is the best way for me. If your wondering about nutrition value in frozen, well its actually the same as fresh.

Today, I bought 15 bags, which will last me about 30 meals.
2 half gals of Soy.
One dozen eggs.
3 one lb bags of brown rice.
1 bottle of tai peanut sauce, yum.
A 24oz bag of raisins.
1 box of Weetabix Cereal. and lastly,
a bottle of one-a-day vitamins.
Total saving today is $8.44 with my store card.

I already had meat at home, so I didn't have to buy any this trip. My lunches are boring, chicken and rice, which I make in the crockpot.

So, my grocery costs are about $200 a month, which includes paper goods, bread and a snack when needed. I buy my meat when its one sale and yes its frozen too. I load up on my bread when its on sale from $4.99 a loaf to 2 for $5.

The lesson here is that you can eat healthy if you buy what you need for the month when its on sale. I have 5 loafs of bread in my frig. Bags of veggies. 5 half gallons of soy. 5 lbs of ground turkey in the freezer, I froze it. Most of this will get me thru to mid march. Yeah, I get tired of my meals, but I feel great. Good luck on your shopping trip. Hope what I shared helps you.
