If you give your kids the ability to text, then you have to make sure the package you're paying for doesn't include data. In fact, simply have all data blocked with the cell phone carrier you're using. All you have to do is ask them to block it and it is free of charge. There are HUGE legal issues that follow your kids for years and it will make it hard for them to find jobs when they enter the job market. Do it for your kids future and stick with "No" forever...
This is a new threat that most adults over the age 25 didn't have to worry about. Now, everyone has to think about what their sending via texting, tweeting, facebooking etc... The trouble is, our very young has the same access as the rest of us and no boundaries or laws have been setup to keep them from having this kind of access yet. This is huge issue and the PARENTS are 100% responsible for giving or not giving their young this kind of access. So, Parents, remove the data from the texting or better yet, block all texting all together and make this kids actually talk to each other AGAIN!
"NO, you can't have it!!! End of discussion!!!!!"

Operations & The Cone-of-shame
Some vets keep dogs over night after an operation and some don't. Well, I found one that doesn't keep dogs after operations and I wish he had. Had my kid spayed yesterday and I didn't figure in that she would be a handful afterwords. Well, she wasn't even interested in a nap. She started to lick where the stitches are at, so we headed off to the pet store to get an e-collar. Well, in my process to get it on her, she was fighting me so bad, she pulled one of her stitches loose. So, I had to carry her back inside to the in-store vet and the vet glued her closed and I asked them to put the e-collar on her. She wasn't happy, but she's figuring it out. She's finding the corners the hard way and that she can't sneak outside. My karma for laughing last night was discovering that I couldn't get her harness off. I later very carefully slid it off down the body. So, before you pick who will fix your pooch, find out if they keep them over night or not. If they don't have everything ready, including an e-collar. I would even ask the vet who did the operation to put it on for you to avoid an 911 situation and when they bring out your kid, try hard not to laugh too hard.
