The Secret Giving at Christmas

One year, Christmas wasn't too far off and behind the scenes a large group of people where gathering gifts for all the children who were either homeless or Orphans. Everything was getting decorated in red, green and white with the Santa suit off to the cleaners for the Christmas party. Everyone was shopping at toy stores, bookstores, and area clothing stores. The Christmas party was here and 50 children were arriving in their best outfits, smiles from ear to ear when the tree comes into sight. All of 25 foot high and covered with ornaments made of stuffed toys with name tags for each child. It truly was a beautiful afternoon. Santa came down the stairs with bags of presents in toe and the scream of joy completely filled the room when they saw Santa in all his red and real beard. All the adults were speechless, there where no words. Santa called out each child by name and each child got a bag filled with gifts just for them. Wrapping paper flying and laugher filled the room for all most 3 hours. Hot Coco was passed around with small sandwiches to fill the tired tummies. Soon, the party was ending, but the smiles couldn't wiped off those little faces for nothing. Some bags where bigger then the child, but they had no problem getting out to the vans they arrived in.

Much to my surprise, on Christmas eve, a few days after the party, upon arriving home I found two huge boxes 3 foot high over flowing with presents. They were just out of reach of my loud and fluffy guard dog. Santa also had me in mind that year. I had presents to open for a good half hour on Christmas morning. There was even some for my doggy to enjoy. I found food, books, clothes, a 6-pack of beer, and other odds and ends. My Christmas tree wasn't 25 foot high, but the idea of a tree was present in my home.

So, what may seem small for those who are buying gifts for some they may only work with or may not even know at all. Bringing the secret gift of Christmas for another can move a person totally and completely. The receiver of the gifts may be one who has always been the buyer of gifts and totally believed in the giving, if that is the case, they are also totally changed and even more passionate about buying gifts for others. It may only be price tags for those who are buying the gifts, but for those who are receiving them, a value can't be placed on them.

Everyone have a wonderful Christmas this year.

Sounds like a wonderful time. Some of the guys at work and I did an angel tree a few years back, and delivering the presents to the under-privelaged kids was the best.
