Customer Service is everyday conversations with people we see a few minutes each day and it's with people we have never met before. It's conversations we have with people who ring our items up, it's conversations with people who bring us our food, it's conversations with the those who make us our coffee, it's conversations with people who we simply pass on the street. I'm not talking about just the way our waitress, barista and cashier talk to us; I'm talking about the way we also talk to them in return.
Customer Service is a two-way street of respect to each person you speak to on a daily basis or even just seeing for the first time. Customer service includes how we treat our employees within the company, because they are after all our most valued customers.
Now, having worked (with pride) behind the counter and have served some of the rudest, self centered people who truly believe they are on the highest level of "I'm better then you'll ever be". It surprises me each time how little respect some people have for those behind the counter. So, to all of those who think your better then me because I'm behind the counter; know this, the only thing that separates you from me is our DNA!
