Post Tax Season

Well, the season of IRS bills or refunds has come to end for some. The most amazing thing is the difference in reactions on that nasty number that fell on the "owed" line. Some panicking over a few hundred dollars (yes its tough on all) to taking deep breaths over the $11k that needed to be paid yesterday. I had clients that walked out when they found they owed $1200.00 and never returned to pick up their stuff. So, we never know how the reactions are going to be when we had to tell them they owed. I can't imagine having to pay 11k in taxes, thats a year's worth of living costs for me, I'd have to file a 1127. I have no words to describe how well my client taking hold of that bill (5 separate checks).

I'm antsy for moving forward on my business. Antsy for finding a part time job to keep me under some kind of roof. Antsy for a dog. Antsy for a road trip. Antsy for improvement. Antsy for changes.

I discovered I can't wash my clothes or dishes with hot water, because my power bill is $150 bucks this month. Insane! I so badly want to get away from massive power bills. That is about 17% of my pay for the month... Rent being 49%, which is 14% more then it should be. How is anyone suppose to get ahead if these 2 bills take 66% of the pay. Thats not including auto insurance and cell at 29%. That leaves about 5% for the rest. Yep, camping out is looking pretty good right. I have a livable wages report for 2008 and its says it takes between $10.06 to 11.39 per hour to cover all living expenses in Montezuma county. A single person would have to work 2 minimum wage jobs to make ends meet. I'm thinking those numbers are up to $10.78 to $12.19 per hour for 2010. That number should be the net amount, not gross. But I'm pretty sure its the gross amount. My living cost from spring 2009 and this year went up $360 bucks and the pay stayed the same. Last year I able to get stuff done off the credit card. This year, I managed to stay off the credit card, but it wasn't easy.

The plan is in my head and needs to stay there until its in practice. Everyone have a good weekend. I'm gonna!
